With the onset of Autumn, we have literally entered the Festive Season. With so many festivals around the corner, it’s practically impossible to resist those mouth watering sweets and the culinary delights. But then who is asking you to resist it. Just imagine “What are celebrations without food?” Do you have an answer to that? If you do,then please share it with all of us here.

So while some of you might not agree with us, there are few out there who truly believe that Food is the centre of all celebrations and festivals. Here are some tips for all of you out there to enjoy your festive season without any fear of gaining weight:

  1. Drink Plenty of Water – This is the most important part of your festival season. Keep yourself hydrated so that your body drains out all the toxins and helps you to feel great. Also water is a free substitute to all the artificial means of a glowing skin.
  2. Walk as much as you can – While you are preparing for the celebrations make it a point to walk as much as you can. Skipping your car to just go to a shop at the end of the lane from your house and walking instead is a good idea. If you think you are not going to make it to the gym, how about take out half an hour in the morning and do your stretching.
  3. Relish the sweets, do not over eat them – Yes we all love the Desi Ghee Ka Ladoo, Kaju ki barfi, gajar ka halwa and all those tempting things nicely kept on the plate in the centre of the dining table. The first instinct is to eat them all, but wait, hold on a second – take a deep breath. Your brain is playing tricks on you. All you want is the taste of it, so take a small bite and let your brain cherish the feeling. Relish this bite and stop. When you practice this, you will see your brain doesn’t demand more of it, you will actually feel satisfied with that bite only.
  4. Do not skip your Green Teas or Hot Water – Drink your 3 cups of green tea to burn the extra calories you have taken or if you do not like green teas, then you can take a glass of hot water, sip it like you sip your tea and coffee. It will not only help you in digesting your food but also help you to burn your calories.
  5. Do not wait for the festive season to be over – Finally, do not wait for the festive season to be over. Eating now and planning to lose after is never a good idea. Instead if you are eating now, the start the steps of avoiding the weight gain now. Now is your time.

Enjoy your festivals while you enjoy your body !
